Wear your scars like jewels

Wear your scars like jewels Some things about me:

I love art, foreign films, reading, travel, and human rights.

Favorite artist of all time: Georgia O'Keefe.
Favorite movie of all time: La Haine
Favorite book of all time: There is not enough room here for that... Nerd alert...

“Travel cures nationalism”. Travel changes you; you step off the plane as a different person than when you stepped on. If you look at the world in the same way as you did before you traveled, you’re doing it wrong…

I frequently blog about issues that concern women and the disenfranchised as well as other global affairs. I also blog about body image issues. I'm confident most days, but for the days I'm not, I have to remind myself to wear my scars like jewels... I hope you can too, because "God has beautifully crafted you”....

Help those suffering in the Horn of Africa

My favorite part of going to yard sales are the dirt cheap, used books. There’s something really beautiful about buying a used book. Of course owning a new copy is very special as well. But when you buy a used book, you know that book has impacted someone in some way, just as it will impact you while you’re about to read it. It’s like the book makes a journey. It’s been in someone else’s life and now it’s in yours. I always donate garage sale books once I’m done reading them, because I don’t want to break that cycle…
